Do I need to register in order to see my proofs?
No. Island Photography coordinates with your event’s organizer to collect addresses and ensure that you are able to view your proofs promptly. We will provide you with your PIN number in order to access your proofs.

 
How do I find my photograph once the graduation event is available for viewing?

To access your proofs on our website, you will need the PIN number that we have provided for you. This can be found either on the paper order form that you received through the mail or in the email we sent you alerting that your proofs were available. If you do not know your PIN number, please contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234. Once you have your PIN number, visit our website, click on “View Your Photos” and choose the appropriate category for your event. The website will then prompt you for your PIN number and name, and you will then have access to your proofs.

 


How long will it take for my graduation to appear on-line?

Events usually will be available for viewing within 3 business days after the event. Race images, however, are usually posted by the Friday following the event. If you have not found your photos online or have difficulty finding them, please contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234.


 

Can other people see my pictures?

The PIN number that we have provided you is assigned to only your photos. Other graduates from your ceremony, however, will be able to see your pictures in the “Are These Not Your Proofs” section. Also, if a candid picture was taken of you, it will be posted in the “View Additional Images” section of your event. Any graduates from only your ceremony would also be able to see these photos. Graduates from other ceremonies do not have access to your photos.


 

Can I have my picture removed from the Web?

Yes. Contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234 for more information.

Proofs & Prints

What if my proof is too dark or too light?
The proof printed on your order form and displayed online is a low-resolution image and has not been color corrected. Your order will automatically be color corrected and printed at a higher clarity than your proofs.


What is the metric conversion for the photos sizes?
4x6 inches = 10x15 cm

5x7 inches = 13x18 cm

8x10 inches = 20x25 cm

10x14 inches = 25x36 cm

16x20 inches = 41x51 cm


What is Complexion Touch-Up?
Complexion Touch-up is an option that minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes and blotches, evens skin tones as well as brightens the teeth and eyes. It does NOT include fixing stubble, shine, shadows, uneven light, stray hairs or tassels, glare on glasses or background issues. If you desire a more thorough touch-up or have specific requests, additional custom retouching is available, starting at $50.00. What is Pearlized Paper?
Kodak Pearlized Paper is a brand new product only offered by a select number of Kodak professional labs nationwide. Pearlized Paper enhances the image quality to produce a product superior to standard photo paper, with the luster and detail of a professional magazine cover. 


Can you crop or remove something from my picture?
Generally, photos are cropped at a standard amount. However, you now have the option during the online ordering process to Zoom and Crop. After adding a package to your cart, click on the “Crop” option and you will be able to zoom in on your photo and customize the crop to your liking. You can also contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234, to help you with your order and customize the crop as well as add any other services, such as Complexion Touch-Up or Custom Retouching, to make your photo to your specifications.


What is lamination?
The laminate is a thin layer of plastic film that is permanently attached to both sides of your photo to ensure a beautiful image for years to come. Lamination protects photos from damage due to moisture, fingerprints, stains, tearing and fading. Lamination also adds a glossy finish to your photos. Lamination does not interfere with framing.


What will be on the title of my picture?
Titles are printed at the bottom of all standard 8x10 in, 5x7 in, and wallet size photos, in the white border that surrounds the image. In general, titles include the name of your school, “Commencement Ceremony” and the date. For example:

Pearlized Paper packages do not have titles or borders, except for the Deluxe Engraved Plaque. Unfortunately, we cannot alter titles on an individual basis. You can request a photo without a title by calling our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234 and placing your order with one of our representatives.

ORDERING FAQ’S



How do I order a photo?

Once you find a pose that you’d like to purchase, simply click on the thumbnail and it will bring you to the packages available for that pose. Choose the packages and quantities you desire and click “Add to Basket” at the bottom. It will then give you the option to order packages from your other proofs. When you are satisfied with the poses you have ordered, simply press “Continue” to review your order. Follow the directions and enter the required information to complete your order.


Can I order after the deadline date?
YES! While placing your order by the deadline date will guarantee prices and ensure the fastest delivery, orders after the deadline are welcome. However, orders received after the deadline date are subject to a $5.00 additional fee. If an order is received that is six months or more after the deadline, order subtotals must be a minimum of $30.00.


Can packages be split between different proofs?
Our packages are designed to be your best value, giving you the most for your money. Packages can only be ordered from one pose and cannot be split between multiple images. There are, however, several “a la carte” options that can be selected to order from different poses at various sizes.


I tried adding photographs to my cart, but haven’t had any success. What’s going wrong?

To order online, your browser must have cookies enabled, which will permit you to use the shopping cart feature. To enable this feature in Internet Explorer, visit Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Advanced and mark both the First and Third Party cookies as “Accept.”

 


What are Cookies?

What are folders?
Our attractive linen folders make it easy to display your proudest moments! Accented with gold embossing, folders make a great addition to any photo gift. Your photo slides simply into the folder for a beautiful showcase of your achievement.


What type of customization can I put on my Engraved Plaque?
Your plaque can be customized in any way you choose within three lines. Each line can have up to 25 characters. All text on your plaque is automatically centered. Please keep in mind during your order that your photo already has a title containing the name of your school and the date (see “What will be on the title of my picture?”). When will I receive my order? How will it be delivered?
An order for pictures placed online or over the phone will be delivered within ten days. Picture orders that are mailed in will be delivered within three weeks. All picture orders are sent through the United States Postal Service.  Products such as plaques and tassel frames will be delivered via UPS and can be expected in 4-6 weeks.


Will I receive confirmation that my order has been placed?
Within 24 hours of placing your order you will receive a confirmation receipt to the email address listed in your order. However, if you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234 to confirm that your order was completed.


How is my tax calculated?
Island Photography only applies tax if you are ordering within the Tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The breakdown is as follows:

All of New York: 8.625%

All of New Jersey: 7.0%

All of Connecticut: 6.0%


I am having trouble placing an international order?
If you are having difficulty placing an order with a credit card issued from a non-US bank or shipping your pictures outside the country, please call Customer Service at (516) 767-1234.


Is my credit card safe to submit online? Is your website secure?
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number), that information is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL.



Can I make copies of my prints or the images online?
Except as otherwise required by applicable law, you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, retransmit, or publish any copyrighted material without the express written consent of the copyright owner, including, without limitation, print or electronic reproduction, publication or any display of photography. Please contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1234 if you have any questions about this policy.


What if I am not happy with my pictures?
If you are unsatisfied with your order, you are welcome to return your photos. We can either correct the problem or offer a full refund. Our objective is your satisfaction and we will make every effort to reach that goal. Please contact our Customer Service Department at (516) 767-1324 with any questions you may have regarding our policies.
